CEO of Rok
Studios and Nollywood actress, Mary Remmy Njoku, is the cover girl for
the latest issue of Guardian Life Magazine.
Mary Remmy Njoku, speaks of how she is highlighting Africa to the world, by
creating unique films that resonate with Africans at home, and in the Diaspora.
Here is an
how she began:
I sent a script to an actor, an A-list actor…he requested to see
me, I went to see him and it was more like an interview. He was interviewing me
to see if I was big enough [for him] to feature in my film.
And after the long
interview; ‘who are you?’, ‘what do you?’, ‘why are you producing?’, and ‘what
camera are you shooting with?’ he said, ‘You know what? You are not even big
enough. When you’re big enough, you’ll come back.
On experiencing setback
It took a while for most of the people I work with today to
realise that, you know what, she knows what what she is doing.
And how does she handle setback?
It’s part of life,I expect it. So I prepare for it. It’s easier
for me to go through it when I’m expecting it.
