Lagos State Governor, Sanwo-Olu pulls down late Fela’s statue in the state- See photos!

The statue of Nigeria’s Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti at Allen Avenue in Ikeja Lagos state, built two years ago by former Governor of Lagos state Akinwunmi Ambode has been pulled down.

According to photos and other info making rounds on the social media, the monument was pulled down by the state's government under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
But the reason given for the demolition exercise by the Governor’s media mouth, Gboyega Akosile, is that the roundabout housing the statue is the major cause of gridlock around the area and the state, but promised that the art work will be relocated to a better site. See more photos below...
