Nigerian singer, Iyanya dragged to court over car theft.

Nigerian singer, Iyanya has been charged with car theft by the Nigerian Police, as he was arraigned before a High Court in Lagos on February 4, 2020.

Though the ‘Kukere’ crooner pleaded not guilty, but was accused of committing the car theft since September 2018, but the matter was brought up against him through the Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU) Ikoyi, and they had filed the charges against him in 2019.

Though according to the Nation, the case has come up 6 times, but adjourned due to the absenteeism of the singer since the one-count charge marked LD/9024c/201 was filed on March 15, 2019, before Justice Mobolanle Okikiolu-Ighile of an Igbosere High Court, Lagos.
The charge alleged that Iyanya dishonestly converted to his use or of another person, a Black Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) marked MAVINIY, with Chassis and Engine numbers JTEBX7FJ7EK165480 and 2TR1385954 according to the Prosecution counsel, Chukwu Agwu who is a Superintendent of Police.

Further, he revealed that the said vehicle belongs to ‘The Temple Management Company Ltd, represented by a lawyer, Ayodeji Olomojobi.
