Justice for Tina and Uwa: Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo speaks out.

Saddened by the re-occurrence of similar situations in the country, veteran Nollywood actor and politician, Kanayo O. Kanayo has joined the call for justice for the deaths of both Uwa and Tina.

This comes as pressure continues to mount on the Government to bring the perpetrators to book, to serve as a deterrent to the acts and the actors.
Recall, 16 year old Tina Ezekwe was killed by the bullet of a police officer in Lagos, May 26 I one of the many cases of police rascality in Nigeria. The young girl later died as she was rushed to the hospital.
Then comes another incident, involving a 100 level Microbiology student of UNIBEN, Vera Omozuwa, who fell victim to rape on the 13th of May, 2020, while reading inside the hall in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Ikpoba Hill, Benin City, Edo State. She was rapped, then killed by those who rapped, and sadly, she died yesterday, May 31st, 2020.

In the words of the actor, echoed in similar tone like other aggrieved Nigerians: "Law is nothing without sanctions. The prosecutions that don't happen denies us of our humanity. When people are punished for the crimes they commit, it serves as a deterrent to others. Rape of minors should be treated the same way crime against humanity is prosecuted."
